How can I pay for my Gold?

Can I pay online by debit or credit card?

No, we are unable to accept debit or credit cards or Paypal payments for bullion products. This type of purchase is subject to a card handling fee which completely eliminates our profit margin when we offer such low prices.

Does Guernsey-Gold accept bank to bank transfers?

Yes, bank transfers are the only method payment we can accept. Our bank details will be supplied when you have been identified and verified and ask for a quote. Please do not send any money until a price has been agreed. Payments must be immediate so we can fix a price for the gold; otherwise there is significant price risk if payments are delayed. Please ensure that your name is used to reference the payment so we can identify your funds with the correct order.

Does Guernsey-Gold accept cash?

No we do not accept cash. Please note that any cash or bullion in excess of €10,000 crossing Guernsey’s borders in either direction must be declared to Guernsey Customs (see www.gov.gg/ccm/home-department/customs-immigration/press-releases/cash-c...)

Does Guernsey-Gold have purchase limits?

No purchase limit is placed on bank transfers once we have verified your identity, address and source of funds. We recommend that purchases above 1 kilo (roughly £25,000) are arranged by telephone for verified clients for efficient order placement. We will not release any bullion until we are satisfied with your identity, address and source of funds. This is to avoid our service being used for the purpose of money laundering or terrorist financing. Please note that large orders may be subject to delay depending on availability and transport times from the supply chain. We keep some stock but recent demand is outstripping the speed of re-supply.

Do I pay VAT on bullion purchases?

No, Guernsey is an independent jurisdiction where VAT does not exist. As of the 1st January 2000 investment gold is not subject to VAT throughout the EU either. Silver and Platinum bought and stored in Guernsey does not attract VAT although it may do so once transported or delivered elsewhere.

Do you take other currencies?

Yes, Sterling prices are quoted on the web-site but we can accept US$ and € but a price will need to be confirmed over the telephone or on a quote. There may be extra bank transfer and foreign exchange charges incurred by you in the process.

How do you manage to obtain such competitive prices?

We have shared staff overheads with a licensed fiduciary company that allows us to pay wholesale rates for many corporate services. We also have excellent suppliers. It is important to compare the overall package cost of bullion that includes postage and storage. We aim to come out on top both on price and overall cost but please let us know if you can get better elsewhere and we will see if we can match or beat any genuine offers.

Do you offer discounts?

Profit margins on bullion dealing are extremely tight in spite of the large face value of transactions. Orders would need to be in excess of £100,000 for meaningful discounts to be given.
