Source and Quality of Gold
Do your bars come with an assay certificate?
The larger bars come with an assay certificate from the refiner that produces them. The larger bullion products are 100g, 250g, 500g and 1 kilo. Each certificate has a unique serial number that corresponds to the number cast on the bullion bar. Smaller bars and coins do not necessarily come with a certificate but we will provide a receipt for their purchase.
What is the purity and integrity of the bars?
All bullion products are received via the Guernsey Mint who source bars from the Swiss refiner Metalor. Metalor is an Associate Member of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). Their bars are classed as having Good Delivery status (www.lbma.org.uk/delivery) which confirms a chain of integrity to minimise the risk of fraud. Good Delivery bars must have a minimum purity of 99.5% gold. Metalor’s refining division maintains a reputation for Swiss precision with excellence in services, processing and environmental issues. Apart from being ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited, its Swiss laboratories have been designated as an Official Referee for the LBMA since December 2003, for both gold and silver. All precious metal analyses are carried out as per Swiss Laws by Government sworn-in Assayers. All of our gold bullion bars are 24 carat and therefore 99.99% pure gold. They all have 999.9 stamped on them to show the purity of gold per 1,000 parts (known as the fineness). To read more visit: www.metalor.com
